PINKGUY® Malaysia Art & Frame is proud to announce SEA-SKY, the 4th solo art exhibition by Tang Hong Lee, who is best known for his refined strokes and naïve images. His best commitment, artistic contribution, and aspiring works have inspired us to collaborate with him and jointly organize this year’s second project by presenting 30 paintings of this new series to our art enthusiast, patrons and prospective spectators.
In his SEA-SKY series, there are dynamic pieces executed in fine edge clean strokes, furthermore the horizon of the works is heightened by a tremendous sense of colours and layers thus forge relationships between dualities, which are reality and fantasy. Hong Lee's paintings are considered naïve art with a touch of pop surreal, but yet still within a strong structured and balanced composition, which enable the audience to diverge between realism and surrealism then to be fascinated by dramatic clouds and skies motion portrayed in his paintings. The convergence of pop-surrealism in his works should be observed as physical and mental force combined into form and soul through his paintings.
He has created his works by reinterpreted images boundlessly at his own perception. There are images of vibrant houses, iconic trees, followed by an assortment of clouds and skies that metaphorically illustrate to a deeper thought of tolerances and positive minds of between human being. His creativity has allowed him to originate something and to cause some object to come into being, whilst his meticulous attention could be seen by his frequent carefully and calmly refined brush strokes and smooth paints.
Through his artistic expression and creativity, Hong Lee has instill the elements of joy and pleasure into his paintings with such naïve images and symbolic gestures, where it was visibly appeared in form of colors, textures, lines, shapes and strokes to allow the audience to sense, feel, experience the enchanting ambient that boundlessly exists and yet need to be explored, and experienced by the spectators.
